The rhesus macaque was found entering a house in Dong Hai Commune, Tien Yen District. The homeowner reported the incident to local authorities, who notified the Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board for rescue assistance.
The male macaque, weighing about 3.5 kilos, was in good health and fit for release into its natural habitat. After receiving the animal, the Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board released it into the forest on Ba Mun Island.

The rhesus macaque, classified under Group IIB, is a rare and endangered species protected by a Vietnamese government decree and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
With the expansive, well-protected natural forest and seclusion from human activity, Bai Tu Long National Park offers an ideal habitat for conserving forest biodiversity. Over the years, the park's management board has conducted numerous rescues and releases of endangered and rare species, preserving genetic resources and enriching the park's ecosystem.
