According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, Storm Nesat has weakened gradually. At 4 pm on Thursday, the storm was around 19 kilometres from the northeast of the Paracel Islands. In the next 24 hours, it would be centred in the central region of Vietnam, focusing on localities Ha Tinh to Quang Binh.

Between 48 and 72 hours to come, it would move in a northwestern direction and then downgrade into a tropical low-pressure area.
Due to the impact of the storm, the northeast of the East Sea, including the Paracel Islands, would have strong winds and rough seas.
The Gulf of Tonkin and the coastal areas from Quang Tri to Quang Nam would see strong winds and rough seas.
