Rare gibbon and monkey handed over to Ha Tinh national park

A rare white-cheeked gibbon and a rhesus macaque have been handed over to Vu Quang National Park in the central province of Ha Tinh.

The gibbon was found at a church in Hong Linh Town’s Nam Hong Ward. Meanwhile, the rhesus macaque was handed over by Hoang Thi Minh in Cam Xuyen District’s Tan Tien Village.

According to Minh, she saw the macaque in a garden near her house in 2000 following a flood. She took it home to breed.

The health of the two animals is being closely monitored at Vu Quang National Park before they are released into the wild.
