The Diamond Van Don Hotel in Van Don Island District has 86 rooms and a swimming pool.
The hotel has been fined and requested to close
The room rates are publicly displayed at the counter, ranging from VND1.85 million (USD74) to VND15 million (USD600) per room per day.
According to an official from Van Don District, in 2020, the hotel was originally constructed as housing. But was changed into a hotel without being licensed.
The facility has also failed to ensure fire safety requirements.
Nguyen Huyen Anh, director of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, said the hotel was fined VND90 million for the violation and was requested to stop operations.
