Popular newswire VietNamNet hacked, again

Two weeks after hackers took over newswire VietNamNet, they succeeded again Monday morning.

Two weeks after hackers took over newswire VietNamNet, they succeeded again Monday morning and this time posted several articles to leak purportedly sensitive info about the most popular online newspaper.

One article appeared on VietNamNet’s homepage at 8am, revealing its source code and information about the newspaper’s internal conflicts involving certain contracts.

The article was removed soon after that.

On Nov 22, the paper was disrupted at 3 am and took until afternoon for its technicians to retrieve the website from the hackers.

The hackers left several messages on the homepage: “HacKeD by TeaM MosTa AlgeriaN HackEr,” “I want Say... Secur!Ty,” “Tnks Alahe,” and “To be or not to be.”

The hackers penetrated through the security hole and deleted some data.

VietNamNet has yet to find out the motive behind the attack.

VietNamNet is the 11th most visited website in Vietnam, according to web monitoring service Alexa.
