The Ministry of Public Security has just issued an urgent notice to search for a convicted killer who escaped from a prison in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa on Tuesday night.

Trieu Quan Su is serving a life sentence for murder, robbery and desertion at a jail in Thach Thanh District. This is the third time he has escaped.
Su, 31, used to be in the military but frequently stole and deserted.
He deserted and murdered the owner of a coffee shop in Hanoi to rob the premises, and he was given a life sentence in 2013.
While serving his sentence in Quang Ngai Province, Su escaped from prison at the end of 2015. He was arrested a month later and was sentenced to three more years for escaping and three years for robbery.
The prisoner escaped from the Quang Ngai prison again in June 2020. He was arrested 15 days later in a computer games shop in the neighbouring province of Quang Nam. He was then moved to a prison in Thanh Hoa Province.
In the urgent notice issued on Tuesday evening, the police advised that Su was very dangerous, so if people recognise him, they should not approach him but immediately report his whereabouts to the nearest authorities.
Chairman of the Thanh Long Commune People’s Committee, Vu Trong Hung, said that after receiving information, the commune immediately alerted six police stations to conduct a manhunt.
Local authorities have also broadcasted details of the case on the loudspeakers and the media.
