Quynh Trang from Dong Da District said she and her family would travel through Tet and she couldn't bring her dog along for 10 days. Trang is satisfied with the VIP pet hotel which costs VND500,000 a day because her dog would be well taken care of.
The pets will be bathed and feed based on the owners' requested diet. The hotels are equipped with air conditioners and cameras for customers. The pets are free to run around the hotel and only need to return to their rooms when they sleep or eat.

The dog hotel service costs VND300,000 (USD13) to VND650,000 a day and VND250,000 to VND350,000 for cats, depending on their sizes and types of rooms. The regular room for 5-10kg dogs cost VND400,000 a day while a VIP room costs VND550,000 a day. Owners must contact the hotels beforehand to discuss special care if their pets are over 30kg.
Dam Phuong, an owner of a pet hotel service on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, said all of their rooms were booked since January 20. Pet owners often start booking rooms for their dogs and cats two weeks before Tet.
"Most owners send their pets to our hotel for four to 10 days. In some cases, the owners let their pets stay at the hotel all year round and only take them home during special occasions or holidays," Phuong said.
