In his message, the Vietnamese leader expressed confidence that under Kim Jong Un’s leadership, the Workers’ Party of Korea and the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) would continue to obtain significant achievements in national development.
The Party chief reaffirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its traditional friendship with the DPRK and stands ready to work closely with the DPRK side to further strengthen cooperation between the two Parties and the two States in a more substantive and effective manner.
The 9th National Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea opened on February 19 with the participation of approximately 5,000 delegates. According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the Congress reviewed recent achievements, elected members of the new Central Committee, and adopted amendments to the Party Charter.
