Owner of Nha Trang beach pipeline identified

Authorities in Bac Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, have identified the owner of a pipeline exposed along Hon Chong Beach, saying it belongs to a state-run aquaculture research institution.

The pipeline, which extends from a residential area across a seawall and into the beach area, came to public attention after it became visible during low tide.

Local authorities said they had met with the unit responsible for managing the pipeline and were working on an appropriate solution.

The pipeline was discovered by beachgoers who reported seeing a black pipe emerge from the sand when the tide receded.

Following the reports, local officials carried out an inspection to determine the pipeline's origin and purpose. Initial checks found no signs that wastewater or other waste was being discharged into the sea through the system.

Authorities said the exposed pipeline could have led residents to mistakenly believe it was being used to discharge waste into the marine environment.
