A delegation 47 Vietnamese from 22 countries have visited soldiers and residents in the island district of Truong Sa and those posted on DK1 platforms.
The trip, which lasted from April 18-23, was the tenth of its kind held for overseas Vietnamese by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Vietnam People's Navy to help them learn about the life of the residents and military in the East Sea. The 47 overseas Vietnamese people were among a delegation of over 200 visitors to Truong Sa Island District this year.
The delegation attended a national flag saluting ceremony and gave presents to soldiers and local people, among other activities.
The island district of Truong Sa is part of the central province of Khanh Hoa, while the DK1 platforms are offshore economic, scientific, and technical service stations on Vietnam’s southern continental shelf.
