Between March 8 and February 27, HCM City received a total 22.49 million Covid-19 vaccine doses. Of the sum, 22.15 million doses were used; 81,822 have remained valid and 257,549 have expired.
Among the expired amounts, the Pfizer vaccine for adults accounted for the majority with 247,000 doses, followed by Moderna with 6,000 doses and AstraZeneca with 3,700 doses.An official from the HCM City Department Health said HCM City has ensured the Covid-19 vaccination coverage for people following the Ministry of Health’s instructions. However, some of the city’s localities have received more Covid-19 vaccines than their actual demand. Meanwhile, the vaccines’ expiration date is quite short.
The Ministry of Health previously agreed to extend the shelf life of some kinds of Covid-19 vaccines in many localities.
