Northern region to face intense cold

Northern regions have been forecasted to see intense cold weather in the coming days, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

The cold front will occur on January 3-6, with mountainous areas to be affected the most.

The northern region is undergoing a dry cold spell, with temperatures in several mountainous areas falling below 10 degree Celsius.

On Wednesday morning, frost blanketed Mount Fansipan in Lao Cai Province when the temperature fell to below 1 degree Celsius.

Hanoi's temperature currently ranges from 11 to 24 degrees Celsius, with the coldest periods occurring in the early morning and evening.
