The country hopes to attract Vietnamese tourists to visit the country and for its travel firms to boost ties with their Vietnamese counterparts.
HanoiRedTour Company is one among first Vietnamese enterprises to offer tours to the DPRK including Pyongyang, Kaesong and the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ), starting from April 5.
The mart will include more than 500 booths showcasing tourism products and destinations, bringing together travel companies from 25 countries and territories.
It’s expected that more than 32,000 tour packages and 20,000 air tickets will be sold at the event. Bình estimated that VITM will attract 85,000 visitors this year.
During the four-day event, art performances will be held featuring ví dặm (folk singing) from the central province of Nghệ An, traditional dance of Indonesia, Karatedo from Japan, K-pop from South Korea and traditional arts of Malaysia.
