Ninh Binh Province has awarded VND 500 million (USD 19,110) to Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, a student at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, in recognition of her outstanding achievement at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).
At a ceremony held on July 20, the Ninh Binh Province People's Committee presented Ngoc with a certificate of merit and the cash award following her gold medal performance at one of the world's most prestigious science competitions.

Vietnam's five-member team won medals in every event at this year's Olympiad. Ngoc's gold medal helped place Vietnam among the top seven participating countries, marking the nation's best-ever performance at the International Physics Olympiad.
To honour the achievement, Nguyen Thanh Binh, chairman of the Ninh Binh Province People's Committee, presented Ngoc with a commendation and the VND 500 million (USD 19,110) award.
The province also awarded VND 250 million (USD 9,550) to Nguyen Hai Duong, a teacher at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted who directly coached Ngoc for the international competition.
During the ceremony, acting under the authorisation of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, the provincial chairman also presented Ngoc with a congratulatory gift from the deputy prime minister.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Thanh Binh described Ngoc's gold medal as an exceptional accomplishment, reflecting her intelligence, perseverance, passion for science and years of dedicated study.

He also praised the Department of Education and Training, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, and other relevant agencies for their efforts in identifying, selecting and nurturing talented students.
The provincial chairman expressed hope that Ngoc would continue pursuing scientific research, further develop her academic potential and become a highly skilled professional contributing to both her hometown and Vietnam.
