More than 1,000 bullets discovered in Lam Dong coffee farm

A farmer in Lam Dong discovered more than 1,100 suspected military bullets while digging holes for coffee trees, prompting authorities to secure and inspect the area.

Authorities in Lam Dong Province are collecting and handling 1,140 suspected military bullets after a local resident discovered the ammunition while working on his farm.

According to local police, the discovery was made by Y Win, a resident of Truong Xuan Commune, while he was digging holes to plant coffee trees in his garden. During the work, he uncovered numerous metal objects resembling military ammunition and immediately reported the finding to authorities.

Following the report, Truong Xuan Commune Police dispatched officers to the site and coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect the area, collect the items and conduct an inventory. A total of 1,140 suspected military bullets were recovered.

Officials said the ammunition was old and heavily oxidised, making it difficult to identify markings, calibre or type. Authorities have not yet determined the technical condition of the bullets or whether they remain functional.

To ensure public safety, local police worked with the commune's military command to secure the area and expand the search for any additional ammunition or hazardous materials that may still be buried nearby.

The recovered bullets have been handed over to the Truong Xuan Commune Military Command for further examination and disposal in accordance with regulations.
