According to the Que Phuoc Commune Military Command, the fire broke out at around 7.30 pm on July 18 in a forested area of the commune.

After receiving reports of the fire, the commune's military command alerted higher authorities and immediately dispatched rapid response teams to the scene.

More than 100 personnel, including local emergency responders, were mobilised to fight the blaze.

Officials said firefighters faced particularly difficult conditions as they battled the fire at night across rugged terrain. Strong winds repeatedly intensified the flames, making the blaze extremely difficult to control.

After several hours of firefighting, crews succeeded in containing the fire at around 12.30 am on July 19, preventing it from spreading to surrounding forest areas.

Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have started after vegetation was burned by local residents during windy weather, allowing the flames to spread rapidly.

Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of the damage.
