A Buddhist monk in Can Tho City has been suspended from his post at a local pagoda for three months after a scandal involving photos of a young man thought to be him were posted on Facebook recently.

A Buddhist monk in Can Tho City has been suspended from his post at a local pagoda for three months after a scandal involving photos of a young man thought to be him were posted on Facebook recently.

On October 10, the Executive Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha decided to suspend monk named T.M.N of Khanh Quang Pagoda. They expect to hold another meeting on October 15 to make a final decision on the matter.

The photos in question have been on Facebook since mid-September.

Since the monk's suspension, while awaiting a final conclusion from the Executive Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, more photos of the monk have been posted to a Facebook account under the name H.M.

In photos, the young man, thought to be the monk, is wearing a jeans, a t-shirt and a cap and us hugging a woman.
