Under agreements signed between the banks and the provincial authorities, the funding will go into six urban infrastructure projects between 2010 and 2015.

The World Bank will finance the urban development project of Vinh City, drainage and waste water treatment project of Thai Hoa Town and the second phase of rural energy project.

The ADB will fund a project to expand the water plant in Thai Hoa Town, a project to reduce water loss rate in Vinh City and the waste-water treatment project in Cua Lo Town.

They are Nghe An’s major projects expected to improve degraded infrastructure, including drainage systems, in the first-tier city of Vinh and a number of districts and towns.
