The rain, which lasted nearly an hour, caused serious flooding in many streets in Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong, and Cau Giay districts.
A section of Nguyen Trai Street in Thanh Xuan District was put 50 centimetres under water. The serious flood caused traffic congestion on all three lanes of the street.
Some people could not drive their motorbikes in the flooded street.

Some lanes in Nguyen Van Long Street in Ha Dong District were also deeply submerged.
It is forecasted that heavy rains will continue in Hanoi and neighbouring areas with average rainfalls of between 20-60mm.
