On March 19, police in Haiphong City arrested a local man for growing and selling marijuana out of his home.

Police in Le Chan Distric, while inspecting the house of Do Hai Nam on Mieu Hai Xa Street, discovered that the second and third floor with total area of 100 square metres were used to grow marijuana. Nam also had a criminal record.

When the drug crime police discovered Nam's activities, he was already suspected of being closely associating with other suspects in the drug trade. His electric bill was abnormally high, causing further suspicion. The police conducted a raid on his home and caught Nam while using and selling drugs.
The police seized eight plastic bags full of methamphetamine, a box of marijuana, a bag of marijuana seeds as well as tools for manufacturing drugs and weapons. The second and third floors were full of lamps for growing marijuana.

Nam admitted that he used the internet to research growing methods. Police are still investigating the case.
