According to police in Quang Tri Province, Huang committed four break-ins between March and August 2025, targeting agencies, companies and organisations. He forced open safes and stole property worth nearly VND 2 billion (USD 79,000).
Investigators said Huang and an accomplice, also from Guangxi, crossed into Vietnam illegally near Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Lang Son Province. They bought a motorbike in Lang Son and travelled to the central province of Quang Tri, where they committed the thefts, often striking at night or during holidays when premises were unguarded.
Major Hoang Trung Thanh of Quang Tri Police Department said the criminals often entered Vietnam through informal border crossings before scouting industrial zones and businesses with large, poorly secured compounds. They used tools to pry open safes, stole cash and valuables, then fled the scene. After spending the stolen money in China, they would return to Vietnam to commit the crimes again.
Police are continuing their investigation and are searching for Huang Shaoxiong, the suspected accomplice.
