The information was given by Phan Van Mai, chairman of the municipal people’s committee.
The biggest project among those is Can Gio tourism urban area with an investment capital of VND217 trillion. The 3,000-hectare project invested by Can Gio Tourist City Corporation will be located in Long Hoa Commune and Can Thanh Town. It will accommodate around 228,000 people.The second project is Can Gio international container transshipment port in Cu Lao Phu Loi Area which costs VND129 trillion (USD5.4 billion). It will include a 7.2-kilometre wharf which can receive 250,000 DWT container ships.
The project is divided into seven phases, with the first set to be completed by 2027 and the entire project expected to be done by the end of 2045.
The third project is the VND10 trillion (USD425.53 million) Can Gio Bridge which connects Nha Be and Can Gio districts. The 7.3-kilometre bridge project is scheduled to start construction in the first quarter of 2025.
