
Vietnamese player Ly Hoang Nam secured the 72nd position on the latest rankings of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Nam climbed up 24 notches with 298.75 points to rank 72nd – the highest placement ever held by a Vietnamese tennis player.
He stood at 17th place in Asia, placing just below strong opponents from Japan, China, India, Uzbekistan, and the Republic of Korea. In Southeast Asia, Nam is the only U18 player who scored highest points.
Nam is hopeful to improve his rankings as he will join two tournaments in Costa Rica and Venezuela in the next two weeks.
He aims to enter the ITF’s top 50 after his coming competition in Venezuela where he is considered the No.3 seed.
