The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) said it had submitted a proposal to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) to reopen the airport from 0000 local time on August 19.

ACV has requested the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) and the completion of remaining procedures to facilitate the airport's reopening.
The airport was closed on March 4 to allow for repairs and upgrades to its runway and taxiway system aimed at improving operational safety and capacity.
ACV has also informed airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines and Pacific Airlines, to prepare flight schedules and aircraft deployment plans for the reopening.
Construction is progressing around the clock, with major works nearing completion. The reopening is expected to restore air links between Da Lat, Lam Dong Province and major economic and tourism centres, while easing pressure on road transport.
