Long queue at a petrol station on Tay Son Street at 11 pm on November 9.

A customer, Nguyen Quang Ha, said he had waited for over an hour to fill his motorbike. "I had come to several stations during the day but could not wait to buy due to my busy work," he said. "I decided to go at night to save time and hoped the stations would be less crowded but the situation did not improve much."

A petrol station staff member said they had to work longer hours due to the rising number of customers. "As many other stations have run out, more customers have arrived here," he said.

Similar crowds were seen at a petrol station on Lang Street.

At a station on Tran Phu Street customers had to queue for between 45-60 minutes.

"I'm working as a motorbike taxi driver and have to spend a lot of time buying petrol these days," a customer said.

A station on Giai Phong Street put a sign up saying that they were temporarily closed, but many customers still waited outside for them to reopen.
