The Rach Gia-Ha Tien Highway will be around 86 kilometres long, travelling through Ha Tien City, the districts of Kien Luong, Hon Dat and Chau Thanh and Rach Gia City. It will replace National Highway 80 which has deteriorated.

National Highway 80 has deteriorated
Work on the four-lane road is scheduled to start this year and end in 2027. The project’s investment capital will be sourced from the state budget.
The road will help connect Xa Xia International Border Gate and national highways 1 and N1.
Under the Mekong Delta region’s general planning by 20230 and a vision until 2050 approved by the prime minister, many major transport infrastructure projects will be implemented in the region, including four airports and 13 seaports.
