Khanh Hoa drafts plan to develop night-time economy

Khanh Hoa Province is preparing a night-time economy development plan for the 2026-2030 period, with a vision to 2045, as it seeks to tap the potential of tourism, trade and services.

The plan aims to improve services for residents and visitors while contributing to local socio-economic growth, according to the provincial People's Committee.

Authorities said Khanh Hoa already has the basic infrastructure and services needed to support a night-time economy.

Under the proposal, the province will diversify night-time tourism, entertainment, dining and shopping activities, while organising large-scale events to attract visitors, extend stays and increase spending.

The strategy also aims to support Khanh Hoa's goal of becoming a smart and sustainable urban centre by 2030.

Priority sectors include cultural activities, entertainment, food and beverage services, retail and tourism.

Provincial authorities said night-time economic activities should complement daytime businesses and be developed in a way that minimises disruption to residents.

The plan will assess the province's current conditions and growth potential, including transport infrastructure, tourism facilities, accommodation capacity, workforce availability and regulatory frameworks.

Based on the findings, authorities will propose management measures and implementation solutions while evaluating the impact of the night-time economy on the province's long-term development.

A first draft of the plan has been scheduled for consultation with government agencies, business associations, experts and researchers before being finalised and submitted for approval later this month.

The Khanh Hoa Department of Finance has been assigned to lead the drafting process and coordinate implementation once the plan is approved.
