Hung Yen seeks investor for USD 580 mln urban project

Hung Yen Province is seeking an investor for the Lien Phuong Urban Area project, a nearly VND 15.2 trillion (USD 580 million) development expected to accommodate about 20,000 residents.

According to the provincial Department of Finance, the project will cover nearly 98 hectares in Lien Phuong Commune and is aimed at supporting urbanisation and increasing housing supply in the province.

The estimated investment totals VND 15.2 trillion, excluding land clearance, compensation and resettlement costs.

About 28.4 hectares have been earmarked for residential development, including commercial housing, resettlement housing and more than 6.4 hectares designated for social housing. The project will also include mixed-use urban development areas.

Plans call for a mix of townhouses, villas and apartment buildings capable of housing around 20,000 people.

The site borders the Cua Gan River and National Highway 39 to the north, while the remaining sides adjoin agricultural land, irrigation systems and existing residential areas. Most of the site currently consists of rice fields and perennial cropland.

The project is expected to take about 11 years to complete after an investor is selected, with the bidding process scheduled to begin in the third quarter.

Authorities said Lien Phuong is part of Hung Yen's urban development strategy and is expected to benefit from major transport infrastructure projects being developed across the province.
