
A helicopter arrives with relief goods to people in Phuoc Son District in the central Quang Nam Province on November 1.
Speaking with Dantri/Dtinews, vice chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, Ho Quang Buu confirmed that the first batches of goods were brought by a helicopter to Phuoc Loc Commune on the morning of November 1.

Earlier, Quang Nam leaders proposed to the government the use of helicopters to support around 3,000 households in the mountainous communes of Phuoc Loc and Phuoc Thanh in Phuoc Son District who have been isolated since October 28, causing them the serious shortage of necessities, particularly food.

The two communes have been hard hit by landslides and floods following Storm Molave. Many houses have been buried, while lots of public works have been severely ruined.
On Sunday afternoon, 300 people were sent to help transport and distribute the goods to local people.

The official said that by the end of November 1, 167 workers at the Dak Mi 2 Hydropower Plant project were safely evacuated and the remaining 48 others will be brought out on November 2.
