HCM City will cut 51,000 bus trips during the coming Tet Lunar New Year Holiday due to falling passenger numbers.

According to Le Hoan, deputy director of HCM City Management Centre of Public Transport, bus passengers in HCM City would drop by half during Tet as many students and workers return to their homes.

So between January 12 and 31, the centre will slash nearly 51,000 bus trips. Bus routes 50 and 52 which mostly serve students will be temporarily suspended between January 15-29.
