According to the Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR), this is the second theft at the site since June last year.

This time, thieves stole some technical equipment, including grounding wires and rail clips, on the elevated section from Thao Dien to Suoi Tien stations.
MAUR has reported the incident to Thu Duc City authorities and the police and asked for an investigation into the case.
In June last year, around 13,000 rail clamps and several cables of the project disappeared.
Trains at the construction site were also covered in graffiti.
The VND43.7 trillion Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien is HCM City’s first metro project. The line is expected to be put into use by the end of this year.
