The city will hold firework displays at Thu Thiem Tunnel and a drone light show at Bach Dang Wharf in District 1.
A firework display in HCM City
Vehicles will not be allowed to use Vo Van Kiet, Ton Duc Thang, Le Duan, Pasteur, and Nguyen Tat Thanh streets in District 1 and part of Hoang Dieu Street from 8 pm on January 21 to midnight on January 22.
People will be also prohibited from parking their vehicles on Khanh Hoi, Mong, Calmette, Ong Lanh, Thu Thiem, Ba Son, Saigon and Phu My bridges as well as Mai Duc Tho Road to see the firework displays.
People who live in the affected areas need to contact local authorities for advice.
HCM City will organise five low-altitude displays at Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11, Thu Duc City, Can Thanh Commune in Can Gio District, Cu Chi and Binh Chanh districts.
