The passenger bus route with a travelling time of about nine hours, will depart Nuoc Ngam Bus Station in Hanoi in the morning and pass through some Vietnamese provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Lang Son, and Huu Nghi International Border Gate before arriving in China's Nanning City in the afternoon. There will be one or two buses operating daily with ticket prices of VND 720,000 per person.

This is the first direct passenger route connecting Vietnam and China resumed after the two countries suspended international road passenger transport services due to the Covid-19 pandemic on January 31, 2020.

Before the pandemic, there were the Hanoi-Nanning, and Haiphong-Halong-Nanning road routes operating between the two countries.

Apart from the Hanoi-Nanning route, Nuoc Ngam Bus Station has also resumed the operation of the bus route to Vientiane in Laos.
