The Hanoi municipal government has decided to ban the use of pavements and roads for parking on several more streets in the capital.

Illegal parking still recorded at Dinh Tien Hoang Street despite ban
As a result, the ban, the second this year; will affect areas in Thanh Xuan District in the time to come, including Nhan Hoa and Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Streets.
Parking will be also banned at the street along To Lich River, ranging from Khuong Trung T-junction to Khuong Dinh Ward as well as Nguyen Tuan Street.
The city’s government requested that the municipal Department of Transport, co-ordinate with district authorities to complete the withdrawal of business licenses of parking lot operators along those streets prior to April 25.
The department will work with city police to ensure enforcement.
The city applied the first parking ban to 262 streets beginning from February 6. The ban was imposed amid the overwhelming demand for parking spaces, causing difficulties to local residents.
Many local traders said the parking problem was hurting their businesses, and they were seeing declining numbers of customers.
