Several cities including Hanoi are calling on local enterprises and organisations to support money to organise fireworks displays for the Tet Holiday.

Firework in Hanoi
Hanoi People's Committee asked the Department of Planning and Investment to work with Finance Department to implement a sponsorship programme. The Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have been asked to promote the fund.
Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee planned to organise a firework display near Saigon River and Dam Sen Park. They are also calling on local organisations to finance the firework display.
Back in April last year Tran Quoc Chiem, deputy head of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that they would call for financial support from the private sector to organise firework displays on Reunification Day April 30 as well as other special occasions instead of using the city budget.
The National Day fireworks were funded by the private sector. However the complete absence of fireworks on New Year’s Eve, a milestone in the country’s wider international integration through the formation of the ASEAN Community has been unexplained and points to issues about handing over these events entirely to the private sector to fund.
