Hanoians are voicing their angst towards the stagnancy and low quality of the projects to celebrate the grand celebration of Hanoi\'s 1,000 anniversary.

Hanoians are worried about the electric boxes being flooded in heavy rains which could threaten their lives.

149 queries were sent to the 22nd session of the Hanoi People’s Committee which will take place from from December 6-12. Hanoi voters are concerned about many issues, especially the poor quality of the projects set up to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the capital.

Many voters complained about the bad quality of these works, while other voters were distraught criticising unfinished projects.

Voters in Dong Da District pointed to the pavement on Ton Duc Thang Street where the work was done rashly and is degrading quickly. They also complained about other unfinished projects such as the bridge for pedestrians on Tay Son Street and the big project to turn the outdoor electric wire system into an underground system, asking the city authorities to quickly and strictly tackle this problem.

Some said that their streets are not looking cleaner or more beautiful, rather, they are a mess with litter and debris left behind. They are also worried about the electric boxes being flooded in heavy rains which could threaten people’s lives. They urged the city’s relevant agencies to solve this problem before the next flood season.

Meanwhile, voters in Hai Ba Trung District questioned the stagnancy in carrying out the Vinh Tuy Bridge which was one of the projects intended to be completed to celebrate the 1,000th birthday of the capital. Many projects have not been finished which leave muddy and dusty roads and greatly interferes with the life of local people.

Also concerning about the stagnancy of many projects that block transportation, damage irrigation systems, voters in Dong Anh District urge the People’s Council to quickly complete the road leading to Nhat Tan Bridge and the extended No. 5 Road, while voters in Cau Giay District are complaining about the stagnant project of National Road 32 which has been waited upon for years.

Other hot issues being included in the queries are water pollution on local Nhue, To Lich, Day River, environmental pollution, suspended projects and housing policies.
