Up to 3,780 poor households in the city will be funded to repair or build houses.
Each poor household will receive VND20 million (USD956.9) from the Hanoi City People’s Committee, VND5 million (USD239.2) from the Fund for the Poor and VND2 million (USD95.6) from the city’s fund to build and repair their houses which were damaged by disasters or faced other risks.
In addition, poor households can borrow loans at a maximum of VND8 million (USD382.7), from the Bank for Social Policies.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee has encouraged organisations and individuals to provide financial support for Hanoi’s housing project.
Over the past two years, Hanoi has spent more than VND257.7 billion (USD12.3 million) on repairing and building 7,467 houses for the poor.
