On May 5, General Secretary To Lam, accompanied by a high-level Vietnamese delegation, departed for state visits to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Belarus and an official visit to Russia, where they will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
The working trip, scheduled from May 5 to 12, is being made at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, and President Aleksandr Lukashenko of Belarus.
The delegation includes Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs; Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Defence; and Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security.
Also joining the delegation are Le Hoai Trung, Chief of the Party Central Office; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; and To An Xo, Assistant to the General Secretary and Head of the General Secretary’s Office.
In addition, Vietnamese Ambassadors to the respective countries are part of the mission: Dang Minh Khoi (Ambassador to Russia, concurrently to Azerbaijan), Pham Thai Nhu Mai (Ambassador to Kazakhstan), and Nguyen Van Ngu (Ambassador to Belarus).
The trip is intended to further underscore Vietnam’s sincere and loyal sentiments and its commitment to promoting long-term, effective, substantive, and mutually beneficial co-operation with these partner countries.
