Long Bien Bridge, formerly called the Paul Doumer Bridge, spans the Red River, linking Hoan Kiem and Ba Dinh districts with Long Bien District. Designed by the French, construction of this bridge started in 1898, with it completed in 1902.

It is 1.8 kilometres long and has pedestrian access. The bridge was damaged many times during the American War.

Long Bien Bridge has been continuously repaired as it has aged.
