On February 28, three women from the districts of Nam Tu Liem, Thanh Tri and Cau Giay posted the news that a man in Quang Ninh Province had contracted Covid-19 after coming to a karaoke parlour.

Meanwhile, a man spread the information that a group of Vietnam Television had close contact with the wife of a Covid-19 patient in the northern province of Quang Ninh after having a dinner served by her.

The four admitted what they had done and removed the inaccurate news. They also agreed not to repeat such behaviour.

Several people in Vietnam have been fined for posting false news on Covid-19 infections on Facebook.
