Heavy rain caused flooding in several homes in Thong Nhat Ward, Gia Lai Province on the morning of September 3. The worst-hit areas were along Pham Ngoc Thach Street and Ly Thai To Street in Thong Nhat Ward.

Alley 433 on Ly Thai To Street was the hardest hit. Water rose rapidly, reaching around 1.2 metres in some places, with strong currents sweeping into many homes and severely disrupting daily life.
After receiving reports of the flooding, Thong Nhat Ward police, in coordination with the ward military command and other authorities, moved in to help residents evacuate people and belongings to safer ground. In the flooded areas, more than 50 officers and soldiers waded through the water, carrying children and elderly people to safety while helping households move furniture and valuables to higher places.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thanh Cong, chief of Thong Nhat Ward police, eight households were flooded in Alley 236 on Pham Ngoc Thach Street, where water levels reached about 80cm. In Alley 433 on Ly Thai To Street, 11 households were badly flooded, with water rising to nearly 1.2 metres.
Localised flooding was also reported in Alley 11 on Nguyen Viet Xuan Street in Hoi Phu Ward, Gia Lai Province. Rising water entered several homes, affecting eight households and making daily life and travel difficult.

From early morning, leaders of Hoi Phu Ward and emergency teams were at the scene to assess the situation and roll out response measures. Officials helped residents lift and move household goods and daily necessities out of rising water to limit damage.
In several low-lying areas, water rose quickly, making travel difficult. Teams went door to door to help move residents and their property to safety.
