Flight bans for aviation regulation violations

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has imposed flight bans on two local men for violating aviation security and safety regulations.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has imposed flight bans on two local men for violating aviation security and safety regulations.

A 44-year-old man from the central province of Quang Ngai who was going to take the VietJet flight VJ375 VCL-SGN on September 15 failed to follow regulations on checking carry-on luggage.

The CAAV imposed a 12-month flight ban on him, starting from October 22.

In another incident, a 22-year-old male passenger also received a nine-month flight ban beginning on October 22.

The Nghe An City resident smoked on Pacific Airlines Flight BL6434SGN-VII on August 12 and refused to pay the fine.

All flights operating in Vietnam have been asked not to transport the two passengers during the period of the ban.

In September, a man in Hanoi was also banned from flying for nine months after failing to pay a fine for smoking on a domestic flight.

Under the Law on Civil Aviation of Vietnam, people caught smoking on a plane will be fined VND3-5 million. They have to pay the fine within ten days after the fine is imposed.
