At around 2 am this morning, April 20, the border guards of Kien Giang detected four women at An Thoi fish port area.
The women found illegally entering in Phu Quoc District
They said that they had gone along with another woman but after going ashore, they did not know where she was.
The force then co-operated with concerned agencies to search local restaurants and hotels. Some hours later, they found her at a hotel in An Thoi Ward.
The group admitted hiring a boat with the fees of USD1,000-2,000 for entry to Vietnam.
The five women have been sent to a quarantine site for Covid-19 prevention.
The case is under further investigation.
