Among the new cases detected, four were related to Bach Mai hospital in Hanoi where severalcases had been found over the past days.
One patient who lives in Hanoi's Ha Dong District returned from abroad on flight EK394 on March 18 and has been quarantined in Thanh Hoa Province.
Bach Mai Hospital has been put under lockdown since March 28 after a cluster of cases were found. The hospital has taken over 5,000 samples from the staff, patients and family members for viral tests.There have been 16 cases found here as of the morning of March 29.
On March 28, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered to temporarily close all non-essential services nationwide until April 15 to help Covid-19 prevention.
Under the prime minister’s instruction, only services offering necessities are allowed to be open during this time, while all other services, including entertainment and sports services, are banned.
He also required local authorities at all levels to suspend meetings and events, including religious ceremonies during the period.
The government leader added that it is necessary for people to try to remain as far away from other people in public as possible.
