The pigs imported from Thailand

Thanh Do Ltd. Company in Nghe An Province has declared to import 500 pigs from Thailand to Vietnam which were sent directly to a local quarantine area in the province. The average weight is around 90-130 kilos.

Under the contract signed between the departments of animal health of Vietnam and Thailand, the pigs have to be transported to Vietnamese border gates by specialised vehicles which are then sterilised.

Vietnamese importers are required to have their own licensed quarantine sites and specialised vehicles for pig transportation.

The department has requested enough staff for pig quarantine when the animals are brought into Vietnam.

Following the information about the Thai pig import, pork prices in the local market have considerably fall.
