The European Village was opened at Ly Thai To Square in Hoan Kiem District on May 4 with the participation of representatives from embassies of EU member countries.

The European Village includes nearly 30 activities in sport, fashion to food, featuring European style.
The opening ceremony saw performances by music groups from the Netherlands, Spain, France, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

Vietnamese violinist Bui Cong Duy and some other local art groups will play famous works by Mozart, Fritz Kreisler, Peter Warlock, Chopin and Beethoven.
The event will also see the launch of a European Cultural Heritage publication. 2018 has been designated the European Year of Cultural Heritage by the European Union. The European Union also aims to protect its cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations.
This will also be an opportunity for Vietnamese readers to explore books from EU countries.
