More than 700 athletes from 17 cities and provinces will take part, including Hà Nội, Vĩnh Phúc, Bắc Giang, Phú Thọ, Lạng Sơn, Lào Cai, Hà Giang and Yên Bái.
Participants will compete in eight events, including football, volleyball, marathon, stick pushing, crossbow shooting and tug of war.
The event aims to improve the health and spiritual life of ethnic groups, promote traditional cultural values and enhance solidarity among the community of Vietnamese groups. It will run until November 10.
