The donation came after an article about the family of Ngo Van Dung and Pham Thi Hue in Van Lam District’s Nhu Quynh Town had been published by Dantri/DTiNews Newspaper.

Hue said that she and her husband were born blind. Their life became more difficult when their son was diagnosed with retinoblastoma after being born. The couple had to sell all their valuables to cover their son’s treatment, but his condition had not yet improved.
They ever intended to halt their son’s treatment due to the family’s financial difficulties. However, thanks to donation from Dantri/DTiNews readers, they now have money to continue the treatment.
"I’m astonished to have received such a large amount of money. Many people have called us offering encouragement and sent clothes and milk for our son. I have received around VND100 million sent to my bank account”, Hue said.
She expressed her sincere thanks to the public.
