The langur, nearly a year old and weighing about 1kg, was handed over by a local man to the forest management department yesterday. The man had captured it in a local forest recently.
The grey-shanked douc langur is a species native to Vietnam and is included in the list of endangered species in the Vietnam Red Book. It is also one of the world's 25 most endangered primates.
