The southern province of Dong Nai may fail to start work on a belt road project due to some reasons, including sluggish site clearance.
The VND75.3 trillion 76 kilometre-long Ring Road 3 will run through HCM City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An. VND41.5 trillion will be used for site clearance.
The section going through Dong Nai is 11.2 kilometres long and has an investment of VND2.6 trillion. It connects Vinh Thanh Commune in Nhon Trach District and Nhon Trach Bridge.
Work on the section in Dong Nai was scheduled to begin by the end of June.
However, to date, the site clearance in Dong Nai has moved at a snail’s pace. By June 13, the section’s technical design documents are expected to be reviewed by the Ministry of Transport. After that, the investor can approve the cost estimates and proceed with the bidding process to select a contractor.
